Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how SteelTrade uses cookies, local storage and similar technologies when you visit our website, and how you can control them. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website. Similar technologies include browser local storage and session storage, which allow a site to keep information on your device, and pixels or tags used to measure usage. We refer to all of these as "cookies" in this policy.

2. Categories we use

Strictly necessary. Required for the platform to function. These keep you signed in, maintain your authenticated session, secure form submissions, remember your membership and access state during a session, balance load and protect against abuse. They cannot be switched off through the site because the service will not work without them.

Functional. Remember preferences such as language, selected marketplace tab, saved filters, units of measure and interface settings so that you do not have to set them again.

Analytics and performance. Help us understand how the marketplace is used in aggregate: which pages are viewed, how search and filters perform, where errors occur and how quickly pages load. This information is used to improve reliability and usability.

Marketing. Where used, these measure the effectiveness of campaigns and promotions such as membership offers. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles for sale to third parties.

3. Third-party cookies

Some cookies are set by service providers acting on our behalf, including our authentication, hosting, database and analytics providers, and where applicable our payment provider during checkout. These providers may set cookies necessary to deliver their part of the service securely.

4. How long cookies last

Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain for a defined period, typically from a few days up to twelve months, or until you delete them. Authentication tokens are refreshed periodically and expire when you sign out.

5. Managing cookies

Most browsers allow you to view, block or delete cookies through their settings, and to be notified before a cookie is stored. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in, accessing member details, using Deal Rooms or completing a membership purchase. Where a consent banner is presented to you, you may change or withdraw your choices at any time using the same control.

6. Do Not Track

Browser "Do Not Track" signals are not yet handled consistently across the industry. We respond to cookie preferences that you set directly with us rather than to those signals.

Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. The courts of Dubai, UAE have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with them, without prejudice to mandatory consumer or local-law rights that may apply to you.
