Marketplace Rules

These Marketplace Rules apply to every buyer, seller, company administrator and staff user of SteelTrade. They form part of our Terms & Conditions. Breaching them can lead to content removal, loss of verification status, suspension or permanent closure of an account without refund.

1. Genuine opportunities only

Every sell listing must relate to material you actually hold, control or are authorised to offer. Every buying requirement must relate to material you genuinely intend to purchase. Posts made to test the market with no commercial intent, to farm contact details, or to advertise services rather than material are not permitted.

2. Accurate specifications

State the product, grade or standard, dimensions, thickness, width, length, coating, finish, tolerance, packing, quantity and unit clearly and truthfully. Where material is secondary, non-prime, defective, re-rolled or of mixed origin, this must be disclosed in the post. Mill test certificates and origin claims must be capable of being substantiated on request.

3. Quantity, origin and location

Quantities must be realistic and expressed in the correct unit. Origin, stock location for sellers and delivery location for buyers must be accurate. Do not list material as ready stock when it is on water, unallocated, subject to confirmation or held by a third party without your authority.

4. Pricing and commercial terms

Prices are optional and may be shown publicly or kept private. Where a price is published it must be a genuine indication at the time of posting and must state currency, unit and incoterm where relevant. Bait pricing, hidden mandatory charges and prices that cannot be honoured are prohibited.

5. Identity and contact information

Company identity and contact information is released only to eligible members under the access rules configured by SteelTrade. You must not place telephone numbers, WhatsApp numbers, email addresses, website URLs, QR codes or contact details inside listing titles, descriptions, specifications, images or uploaded documents in order to bypass those rules. Attempting to circumvent access controls is a serious breach.

6. Use of member details

Contact information released to you may be used only to pursue the specific opportunity concerned. It may not be exported, stored in bulk, resold, shared with third parties, added to mailing lists or used for unsolicited marketing.

7. Conduct in inquiries and Deal Rooms

Communicate professionally and respond within a reasonable time. Do not send abusive, discriminatory, threatening or harassing messages. Do not send spam, malware, phishing links or fraudulent payment instructions. Never act on changed bank details received by message alone — always verify by an independent channel with a known contact.

8. Documents

Documents uploaded to verification applications or Deal Rooms must be authentic and unaltered. Forged trade licences, certificates, mill test certificates, bills of lading, inspection reports or bank documents result in immediate permanent removal and may be reported to the competent authorities.

9. One company, one profile

Each trading entity should maintain a single company profile. Duplicate companies, duplicate accounts created to evade suspension, and profiles impersonating another business, mill or brand are prohibited.

10. Approval and moderation

All listings and requirements are submitted for review before publication. Only approved and active posts appear in the public feed. SteelTrade may edit obvious formatting issues, request clarification, decline a post, unpublish expired material, or remove content that breaches these rules. Expired or fulfilled posts must be closed or updated by the member.

11. Sponsored and featured placement

Paid placement is always clearly labelled as sponsored or featured. Paid placement never changes the approval requirements, does not imply endorsement and does not confer verification.

12. Reporting

If you encounter a suspicious post, a fraudulent counterparty, a document you believe to be false or any breach of these rules, report it through the issue reporting function in the relevant Deal Room or listing, or write to business@steeltrade.io with the reference and any evidence. Reports are reviewed by our moderation team and recorded in our audit log.

13. Enforcement

Depending on severity and history, enforcement may include a warning, content removal, temporary restriction of posting or messaging, removal of verified status, suspension or permanent account closure. Serious cases may be referred to law enforcement or regulators.

Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. The courts of Dubai, UAE have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with them, without prejudice to mandatory consumer or local-law rights that may apply to you.
